Literae Humaniores

Literae Humaniores is the name given to an undergraduate course focused on Classics (Ancient Rome, Ancient Greece, Latin, ancient Greek and philosophy) at the University of Oxford and some other universities.

The Latin name means literally "more humane literature", and was in contrast to the other main field of study when the university began, i.e. res divinae, aka theology. Lit. Hum. is concerned with human learning, and Lit. Div. with learning that came from God. In its early days, it encompassed mathematics and natural sciences as well. It is now an archetypal Humanities course and is colloquially called Greats.

The University of Oxford's classics course, also known as "Greats", is divided into two parts, lasting five terms and seven terms respectively, the whole lasting four years in total, which is one year more than most arts degrees at Oxford and other English universities.

The course of studies leads to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. Throughout, there is a strong emphasis on first hand study of primary sources in the original Greek or Latin.

111 (Australian TV channel)

111 (pronounced as "Triple One") is an Australian cable and satellite general entertainment television channel which plays popular sitcoms from the 1990s onward. It is currently available on the Foxtel, Austar and Optus Television subscription platforms.

On 24 October 2008, the channel became available on the Foxtel and Optus platform, running promos ahead of the launch. It was confirmed in the days before the launch that the channel will be in 16:9 widescreen. On 1 March 2009, the channel became available to Austar subscribers.

The channel launched on Saturday, 1 November 2008 with a special named Countdown to 111 Hits that featured special guests Jenna Elfman and Jermaine Jackson. 111 is based at Foxtel's Sydney Studios, where The Comedy Channel is also produced. 111+2, a timeshift channel which broadcasts the same programs 2 hours later, went to air on 15 November 2009.

The channel's name was officially shortened on 1 January 2014 to 111 following the launch of TVH!TS. However, the use of the revised logo and name began rolling out in December 2013.
